BUILD an inexpensive heavy duty power supply by VE6HGR

A power-supply that will handle the high Amp’s required for present day transceiver tends to be a costly affair.  $100.00 or more is not uncommon.
Maybe an old computer power supply is the answer for the small wallet. ATX supplies are capable of carrying high loads; have a 100% duty cycle and have all the safety build in you can wish for. On top of it they are small in size and light in weight. As an experiment I turned one into a bench unit with all the possible voltages. To see  how I went about it please click this link
Have fun!
